Plants in our small gardens rarely have the room to grow as big as they do in their native habitats. The pictures below are Ferocactus cylindraceus, the first one from my small garden and the second one from its native habitat in California’s Mojave Desert.

Little Queen Olivia was in one of her weird moods earlier this morning, rolling all over the living room floor showing me her Sunday morning yoga poses.

Seems that lots of people, including me, are doing genealogical research during their pandemic self-isolation. I think I found my roots.

Whenever I asked my wise old grandmother if I could do something that she didn’t approve of, her answer often was “When pigs fly!” I think 2020 is the year when we just might see pigs fly.

I saw a couple of days ago that the fortune of Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s CEO, grew by $13 billion in a single day. Boggles my mind that so many people are angry at unemployed workers getting $600/week in unemployment. If the pandemic has taught me anything, it’s that capitalism needs a serious makeover. Perhaps it’s time for the people to stop fighting over scraps from the table and overthrow the damn table. How much is enough?

The table can be reset OR overthrown – it remains to be seen which one will actually play out or will become necessary – I’m in observing, waiting and seeing mode, but, then, I quote from Gone with the Wind’s Rhett Butler, “There are two times to make money, one in the fall of a civilization and the other in building one.” – – We shall see who chooses to make their $ on which end of the spectrum – 🙂

Personally, I think rich people and corporations are hoping to do both. I think that’s why Twitler and his Crime Syndicate want to destroy everything about the nation because they all are rich, and they will be around to pick up the pieces.

Maybe, maybe not – hard to live off eating gold – :). I live in farm/ranch country – if I hear one more time about how cow farts created global warming, I’ll lose my mind. The centralized systems on many fronts and the many steps in between the one who grows/raises the food and the customer, each step which makes money of the deal, really were shown to be lacking these past few months, eh? There are those who work, build, invest for the future, and those who wade in to make their’s quick no matter how – – time and Universal Laws, as far as I can see, from history, has it’s own way of dealing with them. Sometimes one lives long enough to see it, sometimes one doesn’t – but the various challenges of the past few months are not new or recently in the making – they’ve played out a step at a time (mis-step?) over the past few decades, and for my memory, I can point back to the Nixon era on many things, just from my own lifetime. Curses, like chickens, come home to roost and well – a whole bunch of them came home to roost all at once – – either folks get serious and start meeting the challenges together OR they continue to let other forces divide them – and let impasse occur and we all fall – waiting to see what happens…. 🙂

I loved it when a bunch of Silicon Valley people agreed to donate 10%of their income to charity last year and Besos didn’t sign on. After the divorce, his wife donated the money
