Music on Mondays (8/19/19)—I don’t believe a thing I said

The Music Chronicles of Russel Ray

It’s somewhat rare for more than one song from any one album/CD to make it onto my Lost On A Desert Island list, especially for albums released after the mid-1980s.

Kongos is one of the rarities, having placed two songs from their 2012 album, “Lunatic” on my list. Here they are, but note that “I’m Only Joking” has some bad words in it, bad words which Twitler and his regime have convinced me are acceptable in today’s world….

OH…I really like ‘Come with me now’! The beginning and end reminds of the rhythm that made Riverdance so compelling, and I was totally blown away by the bit in the middle ‘Far away…’ The only thing that left me frustrated was the very last note [2.00 minute mark]. I wanted it to resolve so badly and it just didn’t. Kept hoping ‘Far away’ would be repeated again before the end so it could be resolved but it wasn’t.
The lyrics were quite amazing too. It’s not often you find ALL the great elements in what is basically a rock song. I might add this one to my list as well. 😀

lol – there’s dissonance and then there’s dissonance! I ADORE the soundtrack to Alien 3. It’s full of dissonance et al, but it also grabs you emotionally and keeps you going until the bitter end. The final scene still makes me choke up, and the music is absolutely key to the imagery, including the nod to the crucifixion, and the Mother & Child.
lol – sorry, one of my favourite films.

I have the Alien and Alien 2 soundtracks, but I have not seen Alien 3 so I don’t know anything about that music. Since I’m looking for a movie to watch in the wee hours of the morning right now, I think I should go find Alien 3.

Oh, you must! Imho, it’s the best of the first three, by a country mile. Wasn’t as popular as 1, and 2 though, perhaps because it makes you think. I suspect you’ll love it. 🙂
I was going to look for the track from the finale but I won’t spoil it for you. Enjoy.
