Today is Earth Day!
Here is what Zoey the Cool Cat is planning on doing today:
When the first Earth Day occurred in 1970, I was but a sophomore in high school. My first period “class” was Student Government. I was the representative from the Chess Club.
During the couple of weeks leading up to Earth Day, a friend—we’ll call him Ken since that’s his name—came in every morning and tried to get Student Government involved in that first Earth Day. I don’t remember if he was successful. I recently reconnected with Ken on Facebook. He is a minister with the Church of England and lives and works in Germany.
Here is my Photographic Art contribution to Earth Day 2015:
According to Wikipedia, Earth Day events are held “in more than 192 countries each year.”
Which begs the question, “How many more?” One? Ten? A hundred? A thousand?
One hundred and ninety-two is a pretty exact number, so I’m thinking that, at the time the Wikipedia article was last updated, it was exactly 192 countries. Why not just say that Earth Day is held in 192 countries? Alas….
Earth Day events are meant to show support for environmental protections. Sadly, there is no proof that any Republican in the United States supports, celebrates, recognizes, or otherwise participates in Earth Day………
Need a unique gift?
Marriage? Anniversary? Birthday? Other special event?

I envy Zoey! 😉
Have a great day,

p.S.: And let’s hope the Republicans will – some day – see the light.

Sometimes Zoey the Cool Cat’s sleepiness rubs off on me. I think it’s a disease, but one worth catching!………LOL

Happy Earth day friend!
Hopefully the bickering in congress will stop and these people look at the hard facts. You don’t have to be a scientist all you have to do is look out your window to see the changes!

I’m not sure Republican homes have windows because they don’t want to see!

Most of them probably don’t acknowledge it! I am glad to know that so many countries do celebrate Earth Day. When I went to HEB today I got a free Earth Day bag. Somehow your title brought to mind the title of Phillip K. Dick’s book, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Ship.” Weird, I know. Zoey has the right idea and I like your art contribution to the day.

Every time someone mentions HEB I think of my wise old grandmother. We lived ten blocks from one in Kingsville, and if we needed something real quick, she’d drive us down there and drop me off to go inside to get it while she circled the block. Lines were never long at the cash registers except when the sale circular came out on Thursdays so it was easy to get in and out before she had come back around. Them were the days………LOL

My Republican friend says it’s a joke and an exercise in futility.

It probably is an exercise in futility because most companies don’t care. That’s always puzzled me because if we don’t have an Earth, then what’s going to happen to the companies that rape and pillage the Earth?

Hope your Earth day was a success, Zoey doesn’t seem too interested, but then again she is closer to the Earth than us Bipeds.
