Tomorrow is Election Day 2014, so I thought I’d give you some music to vote by for today’s Music on Mondays.
Although there are lots of political songs (see basically the whole Neil Young music catalog), I could only find two songs about voting.
If any readers know of others, please leave a comment.
“Elected” by Alice Cooper, 1973
“Vote For Me” by Joe Walsh, 1992

How funny that I didn’t know about Lovett’s song. My company used to type papers for him when he was an undergraduate at Texas A&M University.

Ha ha! The things we don’t know about LL. That is funny. Now may I ask, typed papers for an undergraduate? Sheesh…….

Yes. Back before every dog and his cat had a computer. 1973 through 1993 I had a typing company called Just Your Type. Lovett graduated from Texas A&M in 1980. My other high-profile Client was Chuck Knoblauch, Rookie of the Year in major league baseball for the Minnesota Twins in 1991 and was on four World Series championship teams. He went to A&M from 1986-1991 or so; I don’t think he ever graduated before being drafted into the pros..

The Alice Cooper song certainly takes me back. It’s been a long time since I heard that. Thanks.

Dylan is kind of like Neil Young. Everything they ever did is some kind of protest about something…….LOL
