Today is the last day of the San Diego County Fair, North America’s seventh largest fair based on 2013 attendance. According to the Fair’s online counter, 1,404,896 people have attended the Fair so far. The last day is always huge, and the online counter is reflecting that because it’s moving so fast I can’t keep up with it. Just in the time it took me to dictate that, the counter now says 1,405,065……
This year’s fair is celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles coming to America in 1964 with its theme “The Fab Fair.” Here are some Fab Fair Fab Four pictures from my visit to the Fair on July 2.
Since most fairs are agricultural in content, this exhibit was no surprise:
The following two pictures were taken at the entrance to the Fair:
A book I have read several times:
The following six pictures are chalk art in the garden exhibit:
The fourth chalk art above won the People’s Choice award, and is my favorite, too, although I also like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (fifth chalk art).
No surprise that there was a Volkswagen Beetle Bug in one of the gardens.
The online counter now says 1,406,
621 669 699……. I give up.
