Why is life so confusing?

Out & About

The home in Rancho Santa Fe where I teach private chess lessons to four children is gated. Not once, though. Not even twice. Three gates!

It takes me 30 minutes to drive to Rancho Santa Fe and then another 30 minutes to get approved three times. The first gate is to the subdivision, the second gate is to a neighborhood within the subdivision, and the third gate is to the property.

Virtually everything in Rancho Santa Fe is gated since only millionaires and billionaires live there. Why do people live in isolation like that? I mean, how do the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Mormon Missionary Boys get there to knock on your door? Oh, yea. They don’t. Now I understand.

One of the subdivisions which I pass each week has some beautiful garden sculptures welcoming you to the subdivision. Or maybe they are simply welcoming you to the gate to the subdivision. Oh, I don’t know…. Why is life so confusing?

I did find it rather relaxing to simply be sitting there in my car looking at the sculptures while The Beatles were playing on my car stereo. Now I understand.

And thus the kids would, as their parents (probably) already have, lose all contact to the real word around them.
Best regards from “Fritztown”, and take care,
        Pit

I am not looking for a home inspector 😉 but I am looking for a chess partner! We can play online if you are not too strong 😉

The only way I know is to come to http://www.chess.com at the same time (let’s say 4.10 pm ET) to “live chess” and wait for a partner (let’s say 5 min). Then you make him “friend” and play with him.

I love that life is confusing, if it wouldn´t be you probably wouldn´t have to spend hours on end getting to rich peoples homes to teach how to play chess(an art my father tried to tech me as a youngster and still escapes me, you call it art?), you would have probably not even notice the statues or taken a photo of them. Which by the way, they are beautiful statues yet at the same time confusing. Why in the world are they playing the clarinet, or the flout…what´s that thing they have in their mouth?….confusing. Yet again, confusing is interesting and interesting is confusing.

Like a garden of Eden, it is truly beautiful. I guess with enough money you can create anything you want, but are they trying to keep people out? Or are they afraid of letting the real world in. In any case it is nice that you get to enjoy such beauty and then pass it on to the rest of us. :o)
