Music on Mondays (5-12-14)–Mi casa es su casa

The Music Chronicles of Russel Ray

My main occupation that brings is money to pay the creditors is that of a home inspector. When someone is buying real estate, I go document the condition of the property so they know exactly what they are buying. The best part about my job is that every home inspection is much like a child’s Christmas morning: I get to play with things and try to break them.

For today’s Music on Mondays, I thought I would share some of my favorite songs about houses and homes.

“This Ole House,” Stuart Hamblen, 1954

“The House Of The Rising Sun,” The Animals, 1964

“Our House,” Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, 1970

I can’t tell you what discovering this post did for me. I love ALL the songs and they cheered me up no end on what was turning out to be a truly terrible day.:(
You music plus the fact that you have visited my blog and given me so many ‘likes’ has turned a horrible day around.
Thank you so much for that Russel. It just goes to show that we often have no idea of the impact we make with our out put.
    Have a good day yourself.
    Karen.

Personally, Stuart Hamblen was a bit of an ass who walked out of our church because my high school church choir sang “Let the sunshine in” from hair because he thought it was heretical.

Or was he simply exhibiting a bit of jealousy because of his own song “Open Up Your Heart (And Let The Sunshine In)”? Maybe both! Either way, poor actions from a “Christian.”

I love your Music Mondays! Brought back memories of my granddad singing “This Ole House.” And I didn’t realize the same person sang “Let the Sun Shine In.” Great trivia!
