I forgot about my new Blog Love series last week, so today’s Blog Love will cover the past two weeks. If you missed my initial post about Blog Love, you can read it here. If you get mentioned in my Blog Love series, it’s a sure bet that I’m following YOU!
During these past two weeks, I visited 1,208 blogs, an average of 86 per day. Sadly, 559 of those were no longer active (defined as no more than two blog posts for all of 2014), were now marked private, or were so religious or so political that I couldn’t read more than a paragraph in the most recent post without needing a margarita. Those 559 blogs, then, have been summarily deleted from my Excel spreadsheet.
Out of the remaining 649 blogs, I left 2,373 LIKEs and 384 comments. The blogs where I left at least ten LIKEs and/or comments are listed below. Those bloggers who post pictures with very little text to read get the most LIKEs and comments, so it’s not unusual to find pet blogs and photography blogs high on the Blog Love list each week.
Click on the link to go visit them, and be sure to tell them that Russel Ray sent you their way!

I thought you had missed a blog love post. I was impressed with the number of posts you read and liked and commented on over at my blog. Your speed reading skills are excellent.

🙂 I thought my learning to touch type (in my mid-40s) was clever but a bit of speed reading would have been a good thing too. You never know, I might get there yet.

I’m impressed with how many blogs you read! Most bloggers seem to ‘follow’ lots of blogs, though they never actually read them, I don’t think.
It is sad how many blogs are no longer active. I’ve found the same thing with the blogs I follow. I quit blogging for about 4 months, but when I returned, it was to a much more practical schedule (for me) of one post every week or two!

I get through the reading part because I took Evelyn Woods Speed Reading course way back in 1973. That’s close to being the best thing I ever did in my life, possibly being tied with buying Dragon Naturally Speaking in 2001 and really making the effort to switch from typing to talking. Both save a tremendous amount of time.

Russel, Thanks for including me in your Blog Love listing! Quite a system/routine you have with your Excel spreadsheet . You are so ambitious with 1208 visits in this Camp Out of yours. You put us all to shame to do the same. Don’t know how you do it re time management even with Evelyn Wood Speed Reading & your cleaning routines, etc. There are so many demands on our time. Personally, I feel I struggle day to day to keep up with “things on-line” & house indoor & out, family, friends, & things social. But I’ve felt this way all my life….maybe the price of giving myself to my little world around me. Thanks! Phil

Thirty years ago I would have been trying to satisfy family and friends because I had a few billion of both. Mom was Mormon and dad was Catholic, so you, as a social studies teacher, know just how many relatives I have! I’m now estranged from all family except for a lesbian niece and her mom in New Orleans, a gay nephew in Houston, and a sister in New York City who is three months younger than me. My husband’s family is down to himself, his brother, and their mother, so neither he nor I have a lot of keeping up there, either.

Holy moley, when do you sleep? I’m so far behind, I’ll never catch up.

I’m a catnapper, officially, according to doctors. I sleep about 15-30 minutes every 4 hours. I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember, so I simply use it to my advantage.

I’d be a zombie but I could see how that free’s up a whole lot of time. I’m not a big sleeper, but at least 5 hours a night is the norm. Two nights ago, I was working on a project that was overdue. I stayed up all night and was still up when Mr B got up for work, LOL. It caught up yesterday afternoon though…CRASH, big time.

Very impressive – to visit so many blogs. I find it interesting that you most like the blogs that have a lot of photos and little text. I try to write my stories like flash fiction (fast and short) and add a few pictures to go with the theme. Hope that makes them ‘likeable.’ I so appreciate the visits you’ve made to my blog. Yours is very cool.
