I get the message

I livew in my own little world

I have always been a people person, generally enjoying being around people, interacting with people , visiting people….

If your blog is marked private, and I apply for a password to come visit you, and you never respond, well, I get the message.

Poop in a wheelbarrowIf the “WELCOME!” page on your blog (new since last time I camped there) says, “This is a “Like”, “Share” and “Comment” free blog and I am not big on Social Media either,” well, I get the message. I’m curious, though, about your purpose for blogging….

If, during my campout on your blog, I find several posts about how despicable and inherently evil I am because I’m gay, well, I get the message. I’m openly gay and will be celebrating my 20th anniversary with Jim on May 26, 2014. Trust me, I’m not going back in the closet for you, your fairy tale god, or anyone else. Again, though, I get the message.

Poop on them!

If everything (defined as the most recent 30 posts) you have to say on your blog is ultra-right-wing-tea-party-conservativism or ultra-religious, well, I get the message.

Effective today….

If I can’t get to your blog, can’t comment on your blog, can’t leave a simple LIKE on your blog, don’t even agree with (or LIKE) a single one out of the most recent thirty of your posts, well, I am keeping you in my Excel Spreadsheet but you will be marked in orange, the color I dislike the most.

You get the message

Won’t even try to visit you.

Do you?

Most of the no comment/no like posts I find are the first ones in a blog when the blogger didn’t know that their theme had them turned off by default, and reblogs. I have noticed recently that some themes let us LIKE reblogs now.

Oh Russel – so sorry some idiot has insulted you. You have helped me figure out the blogging world from the moment I tiptoed into it and I will always be grateful for that and you – and Jim\. xxxx

How curious, it does make you question why they are blogging. You would think, seeing as they are opinionated themselves, they would appreciate other people’s opinions. Sorry they insulted you, you did the right thing putting them in orange. I also admire how you didn’t reveal this person’s blog, nor their identity. Have a great day! Giana.

I have been lucky that my blog has been idiot free so far but I know they are out their, I saw a meme recently that made me smile that suggested it was time to remove the warning labels from everything and let nature take its course, and I have to say that I agree at times. Blogging is in part all about the interaction if you don’t want that why have a blog, write in a notebook or a word document and for the rest of the idiots out there their parents should have taught them if you have nothing nice to say say nothing at all.

Reminds me of Jeff Foxworthy’s “You might be a redneck….” when he talks about growing up years ago and growing up now. Loosely quoted: “Dad said, ‘Let him pull the TV over on him. He’ll learn.'”

I’ve had bloggers like that. I don’t understand the point of not allowing comments and likes. Why write publicly then?

I have several blogs I follow that turned real right wing religious. When I started following them, it wasn’t so bad. Their blog, their religion …freedom of speech but it was still mixed with things I could relate and comment upon. But now? It’s real fanatical and I just feel bad to unfollow them when there was a time a back and forth correspondence was formed.

Same here. I don’t unfollow them, though. I just mark them in orange in my spreadsheet. I keep track of who follows me, LIKEs and comments, so if that orange person comes by and leaves 30 LIKEs and comments on 20 posts, I will go by to see if they have rejoined the real world.

Some of my followers have said they can’t leave a comment although they’ve tried several times. I think there are times when WordPress has hissy fits and then it seems to straighten out again. I do like having the option of deleting unpleasant comments. I’ve only had one over the last three years, but it’s nice not to have to share nastiness. There’s already more than enough of that in the world.

Yours was one of the blogs that I could not LIKE and, sometimes, comment on from January 2, 2014, to March 27. It wasn’t you, though. It was the fact that I was using Internet Explorer 10, which, as I discovered in the WordPress forums, isn’t very compatible with WordPress. When I upgraded to Internet Explorer 11 on March 27, all of those problems disappeared. So if someone contacts you telling you that your LIKE buttons aren’t loading, or they cannot comment, etc., ask them if they are using Internet Explorer 10. Odds are that they are.

That’s good to know. I’ve had a few people tell me they had problems. I put it down to them living far away (Mauritius and the Czech Republic) but your explanation makes a lot of sense. I’ll ask them about this. Thanks so much!

As a Christian I always feel the need to apologize for these people. Jesus command is simple: love one another. I am sorry for any negativity you face because blogging should be fun.

Blogging should be fun! I have no problem per sé from any religion, but when they take it to the extreme like Bob Dornan, Pat Robertson, Strom Thurmond, and virtually any high profile figure in the current version of the Republican party, it can make it so that living life isn’t even any fun!

Well done. We should always avoid hatemongers (I think that’s the name). They take up too much space in one’s head and they’re not worth it.

    Have a nice day!!!
