I can’t tell y’all (that’s Texan for “you all” or “you”) how good it is to be able to go blog camping again.
Three months without a campout was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long!
The extreme speed of Internet Explorer 11, coupled with my reading speed (courtesy of Evelyn Woods back in 1973) and Dragon Naturally Speaking means that I might soon be back visiting 120 blogs each day and leaving LIKEs and comments all over the place.
Goodbye 2014 first quarter, hello 2014 second quarter!

And you are always such a considerate camper!

That sounds like an amazingly huge goal! Question: how do you like Dragon? I was looking at maybe purchasing it, but I don’t want to invest the money (budge is very tight right now) if it’s not worth it. Are you really liking it? I look forward to hosting you as you are such an amazingly considerate camper 🙂

I have been using DNS for 13 years. That should tell you that I like it. The latest version out of the box is about 95% accurate. That 5% that it gets wrong is technical jargon and slang (y’all, for example), so I wouldn’t expect it to know that anyway. After training it for my technical jargon and slang, it is 100% accurate. If you ever find errors in my work, it’s because I sometimes resort to the keyboard to rewrite a piece of a sentence or something. I have so many keyboard shortcuts that sometimes it’s faster to just make an improvement rather than dictating an improvement. Invariably, though, I mess something up.
I have DNS on three computers and have it trained for my regular voice (which I’m using right now to dictate this), my I-have-a-cold-voice, my I’ve-had-too-many-margaritas-voice, and my Laryngitis-or-bad-cough-voice.

Wow! Well, then I guess I’ll have to save up and get the program. I type quickly, but sometimes the flow of thought moves faster than my fingers can keep up with.
And the fact that you can train it for your “I’ve-had-too-many-margaritas-voice,” that sold me right there! LOL

My world record typing speed was 368 wpm with two errors on an IBM Selectric back in 1976 over a five-minute test. That kind of speed, though, is what caused me to take up DNS in 2001 because of repetitive stress injury, also known as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Ok, I’m definitely not that quick at all. But I can see where that kind of typing would cause injury!

My back yard mostly is begonias and geraniums/pelargoniums. It’s peak blooming season right now for the geraniums/pelargoniums.

P.S. I really like begonias, geraniums, and pelargoniums because here in San Diego they bloom year round.

Yay for camping!! I’ll be looking for you at my fireside. My Dad Person uses that Dragon thing. He scans books and listens to them on long drives. He could not live without his Dragon!

Soon, the flowers will bloom here and I’ll be taking pics, too. In the meantime, the weather can’t make up its mind and our daffodils are discouraged.

How sad to have discouraged daffodils…….. 😦
