Music on Mondays (3-10-14)–Because I’m happy

The Music Chronicles of Russel Ray

The radio this past week has been overplaying a song by Pharrell Williams titled “Happy.”

I admit that it’s an infectious song, but as my wise old grandmother always said, “Too much of a good thing is bad.”

If you haven’t heard the song, click on the video below, which has lyrics, and sing and clap along.

It’s fun, and should get your Monday off to a great start because you’re happy!

Russel Ray! You’re good! “Happy” is contemporary, “with it” stuff! I’m still stalled on & love “I’m Happy” by Al Jolson & can listen to it on “repeat” over & over again! Search it out! You’ll love it from the 1930’s! Phil

Too late! I discovered Al Jolson in 1973 when I was playing violin with the Houston Symphony. One of the violists that I sat next to was a huge Jolson fan. I have most of his music in my collection, including “Let Me Sing and I’m Happy.”

I thought about doing happy songs for today but I couldn’t get past Pharrell Williams, not to mention that there simply are too many happy songs–Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, The Carpenters, Rick James, Soul Asylum, Michael Jackson are but a few that are in my collection.
