Zoey the Cool Cat’s contribution

If Ignorance Is Bliss, Why Aren't There More Happy People?Jim worked at Borders, Waldenbooks, and Brentano’s for 35+ years, so it was a sad day when Borders went bankrupt a couple of years ago. When they had their going-out-of-business sale, he and I bought as many books as we could without going overboard. We went overboard….

One of the books I bought is If Ignorance Is Bliss, Why Aren’t There More Happy People? by John Lloyd & John Mitchinson (IBN 978-0-307-46066-0), subtitled “Smart Quotes For Dumb Times.” Considering that Bartlett’s Familiar Quotations was one of my favorite books when I was young, I knew that If Ignorance Is Bliss… would be a joy to read.

Uncle Fester with a bright ideaI started reading it a few days ago and got the bright idea to share some of the quotations on Facebook. Initially, I simply posted a quote. Then I got an even brighter idea to let Zoey the Cool Cat post the quotations on Facebook. Each day I use a different picture of Zoey the Cool Cat with a different quotation. (Smile if you used to watch Uncle Fester each week.)

Here is today’s contribution to Facebook:

A great prediction of things to come because she truly loves to sit on things, and the smaller the better!

That picture was taken just a couple of days after we had rescued her from the El Cajon Animal Shelter and given her a forever home.

The vet estimated that she was about a year old, which would make her about 7½ years old now. It’s hard to believe she’s brought so much fun and laughter to our home for 6½ years already. I’m voting for at least another 6½ years!

Something else we both have in common, is cats, Russel. Abused, neglected, starving, frozen, ill cats have over the years, ended up on our doorstep. They were brought in, tended to, and today our family is a whopping, 14 cats. I admit I am not of the norm, never did I once claim I was, yet to be doing what I am doing on a daily basis, is extremely challenging. But, the LOVE that these cats have given is not exchangable for all the money in the world.

Because of their beginnings, these cats are “special needs” with real medical problems. Most are addressed with alternative means, but some must be on medication.

Anyways, your idea of quotes is one of my ideas as well. I’m waiting for my “new” lense so that I can really begin photographing good photos of my cats. As you know, cats are not an easy subject to photograph. One must get their “permission” in order to take a photo. At least that has been my experience. (smile)

Awesome quote by the way. Loved it!!! Hmmm…..I must be warming up for something I am planning on writing. You got an earful! GRIN!

And I absolutely fell in love with Zoey. (smile)

hey thank you for the follow/Like

frankly I do not really know the difference in my case. I am a writer who is also a healer/astrologer and I am looking at more ways to get my voice out :there”

        thanks 🙂

I don’t do facebook, but if I did, I woul d follow and like. Zooey is definitely one cool cat. It always amazes me how they can squirm themselves into and onto small tight spaces and how they can’t seem to resist the allure of those spaces. My big SamCat i think thinks he is a tiny kitten from the places he chooses.
