Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Please drink responsibly.
Be careful because there are some who will not be drinking responsibly.
If you’re in San Diego County, know that law enforcement authorities last night began enforcing drunk driving laws on the roads with checkpoints throughout the County, specially for St. Patrick’s Day! They will be out in force for the next 24 hours.
Seven people suspected of drunk driving were arrested at three DUI checkpoints last night, five in Oceanside (no surprise there, party city that it is), one in Poway, and one in Lemon Grove.
These DUI checkpoints not only catch the drunks who are driving, but they also catch those who are driving with no driver’s license, or licenses that have been suspended or revoked. Nine drivers were cited for driver’s license violations in Lemon Grove last night and five vehicles were impounded.
Sometimes they even catch people driving stolen vehicles!
Here in San Diego County, and probably all of California, you don’t want to get caught driving under the influence (and that can include both illegal drugs and legal prescription drugs) or without a license. Even first offenses can be extremely expensive, and with DUI, it’s highly likely that you’re going to be arrested and spend some time in jail, and not just an overnight stay.
A first DUI offense in California will result in a 4-month suspension of your driver’s license, and a second offense within ten years will result in a 1-year suspension.
Of course, if you are arrested you’ll have your mug shot taken, just like this fellow who was kind enough to demonstrate for me yesterday at Chollas Lake Park:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Cheerz to you and that silly goose!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day Russell!
The second photo of this goose looks very weird! Happy St Patrick’s Day!
I heard on the radio that a drunk driving offense will cost you at least $10,000. Not to mention, could also cost your life or the life of someone else.
That’s if you want to fight it. It’s about 25% of that if you decide not to fight it.
Happy St.Patrick’s Day, Russel Ray!
Happy St Patrick’s Day Russel. I only wish they were as vigilant here with the IP’s (Impaired Driving Charge), it’s ridiculous the number of repeat offenders in Alberta. Living downtown, we rarely drive on weekends, we can walk to a lot of great restaurants. In British Columbia, you lose your car too, Impounded….buy a bus pass! Awesome.
Hope you guys enjoyed St. Patty’s…
