Snow in the San Diego County mountains!
![]()
When I went hiking in the San Diego National Wildlife Refuge this morning, I went where I had not gone before, up to the top of one of the mountain peaks. This was my view:
That white stuff on the far mountains, which are about 30 miles away, is where Julian is located.
I just checked the Julian advisory and found that there are about six inches of snow in the mountains.
I’m taking bets on where I wind up tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, here are a few of my favorite snow pictures from mountain winters past:

The route I’ll be taking to Julian goes through the Cuyamaca Mountains and Cuyamaca Rancho State Park:

I love that sign! Are they supposed to be ducks? and duckilings?
Yes. In the spring there are billions and billions and billions of ducks and ducklings. The sign makes a lot more sense in the spring…….lol
Have fun in the snow!
Lovely pictures, I like the duck sign…. does it mean duck crossing???? I have never seen it before! Cute really…
Yes. In the spring it makes a lot more sense than it does in the height of winter……….lol
What a treat!
Beautiful pictures!
Beautiful Pictures.
Beautiful! Julian is so lovely. I spent a lot of time taking long drives around that area when I lived in San Diego.
Very nice pictures – - – but who the heck is Julian?
He’s my snowbound friend. He always wants me to come see him every time it snows but I can only do snow once a year………lol
Beautiful photos. They have that “old time” feeling. I’d love to have any one of them to use as a postcard and only send them to special people.
Beautiful photos!
Love the irony of the Ice machine in the snow! Turkey photo is great too; we get a lot of wild turkeys moving through our property in the fall (acorns) and in late spring with chicks.
I grew up on the Canadian prairies. I’m not sure you can even call this snow!
Snow is Socal!! It was 83 in north orange county last week. Love the mailboxes in the snow! and the turkey.
What a surprise, I had no idea there’d be snow there. Love the picture of the ice machine in the snow, Ironic
Gorgeous photos! I love the snowman and the bird!
Great snap of the duck sign!
Wonderful snow photos!
