Music on Mondays — Margaritaville, margarita pies, and margarita home
![]()
Long-time readers know that I have a lot of music and that I listen to it in chronological order, from 1932 (my oldest recording) to the present. I have classical, pop, metal, alternative, country, opera…. Currently I’m in December 1989.
How appropriate, then, that the first song on my playlist after returning from an 8-mile mountain hike in the boondocks yesterday was “Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)” by Garth Brooks. Unfortunately, the original song is not on YouTube, just a bunch of bad cover versions and a couple of live versions by Brooks.
In keeping with the mountain hike theme, though, I’ll let you guess what I did when I got home:

And for those of you who would like to try something different, try a margarita pie. Maybe after a few margarita pies, you’ll be ready for a margarita home. Just $365,000! And right here in San Diego!

I get this one quoted to me, A LOT. Lucky for me, I like Jimmy Buffett! xoxoM
I’ve tried to include a Music Monday at Boomdeeadda a number of times with little interest, so for this reason I’m commenting and saying, “hello!” Also, you can hardly buy a lot here for that price, let alone a house, is it on a freeway? LOL
What I do at my blog is actually for me. If other people happen to find it interesting, that’s okay.
The Margarita home is out in the boondocks. The farther you get from the coast and the beaches, the less expensive the properties are.
That size home sitting in La Jolla would be about $2.5 million. Out by Acorn Casino, it would be about $100,000.
Isn’t this something? I work within walking distance to the Margaritaville restaurant in Niagara Falls!
Great post, my friend!
LOL – Garth knows exactly how I feel too after most of our hikes!
Nice song!
What I don’t understand Russel is if you are up to an 8 mile hike why you’re not camping anymore. xx
I don’t want to camp by myself, and I haven’t been able to find a camping group.
I know that song of Garth Brooks, I love all his songs
That’s funny I came across this particular post of yours today with the “for sale” sign. A friend of mine suggested to me just yesterday that I’d probably love living in the Sonoma area &/or the mountains north of there. Do you know anything about that area? I know it’s much farther north than where you are.
Sonoma is awesome, but it’s also much more expensive than San Diego. The whole Bay Area is much more expensive than San Diego. I lived in the East Bay from November 1994 to May 1996. Sure had a lot of fun exploring everything up there, but never did finish before the company moved me to Tampa and then to San Diego.
Thanks Russel.
Appreciate it.
I just went on a Quiet Respite and posted Margaritaville. Great minds …. lolol
A fellow Parrot Head???? I saw him at Fenway in Boston labor day weekend show!
