Friday Flower Fiesta (2/8/13)—Snow in San Diego
With a big blizzard heading to the Northeast, I thought I’d let you see what snow in San Diego looks like:
Actually, since it’s raining hard here in San Diego right now, I thought I’d share some of my rain pictures. Heck, since I have so few rain pictures—this IS San Diego, after all—I might share ALL of them!

So beautiful!
I tried taking a couple of pictures of the flowers in our garden here in Mexico just for you, but they didn’t turn out.
If you would put the names of the flowers below each photo – (flowers that I would dig if there were names attached) pun or not- I like your blog a lot but I’d like it even more if i knew the names of the plants
some of which I can tell what they are. Thank you Mr. Tex X. or X Tex?
Regards,
Yvonne – still a Texan
Your wish is my command………..Those that I know.
Why thank you sir- such a gentleman.
beautiful! we had hail here this morning!
Its pouring here too. With hail. I keep thinking I can go out and walk the dog but…
One of the things that I really enjoy about Zoey the Cool Cat over all the dogs that I’ve owned is that I don’t have to walk Zoey the Cool Cat………lol
So beautiful photographs dear Russel, but is it early spring or normal time… Seemed strange to me. Thank you, have a nice weekend, love, nia
Spring sometimes arrives on January 2. This year it’s late. Hopefully this will be the last winter storm we have for this year. I need sunshine!…….lol
There are absolutely gorgeous, and just what I needed to see as we wait to get pounded here. Thank you!
Good luck with the pounding! I’ll be thinking of all my snowbound blogging friends.
What?? It’s snowing there too? Man, this IS a big storm!!
Breathtaking photos. Thank you so much for sharing.
I particularly like the last photo, but they’re all great! I considered writing a blog today about how spring seems to have arrived here, we’ve wildflowers blooming, and I saw a Robin, but I didn’t want to salt the wound.
The last one is my favorite, too, which is why I put it last!
Very pretty. We have had rain and some snow here in the desert today. Fun!
Disgusting!
You are as bad as the smug Victoria residents (like my sister) we Canadian easterners have to deal with in our daily travails! Tsk, tsk. MY poor cat has to walk back and forth in its own tracks in the snow so as not to keep getting buried! Well, you’ll all be sorry when “the big one” comes.
Ha! When the big one comes, I’ll have ocean-front property!……….lol
Love the Iris and Hibiscus shots.
Wow! We are at least one month away from the snow on the trees!
Gorgeous flowers! You take such lovely photos.
The irises I like best. Rain seems to add that extra quality of freshness to flowers.
Thanks so much for sharing such a lovely diversity of flowers.
All so awesome. The Datura really wowed me tho!
You know it may just be me, but I swear all of your flower pictures are just glowing tonight! (Zoey too)

It’s the raindrops. They do that.
And you captured them so eloquently!!

Lovely flowers!!! Excellent shots!!!
I was born in La Jolla and have lived my whole life in San Diego, now northern, rural, unincorporated area. It is raining now and the cows ran for shelter in the oak groves. Glorious here as our your photos.
You live in the boondocks? Have I explored your boondocks yet?………lol
Spectacular purples on the bearded iris shot!
Just the medicine I needed before bed tonight. Snow, snow, snow here in WI, and more to come, I’ve heard. The flowers are all so pretty. I couldn’t pick just one favorite, but we don’t see the yellow hibiscus around here much, so loved that one.
. Thanks, Russell. Hi to Zoey!
Amazing! I didn’t even know the names of most of them. Thanks Russel for sharing the beautiful pictures.
These are stunning, Russel. You have really excelled yourself this time. So many beautiful flowers and lots I’ve not seen before.
I linked to you from soulsnet today. The post is about comfort zones. I hope you will visit and enjoy.
Cheers
Corinne
Inspiring Russell, makes me want to get out in the rain and have a go.
Cheers

Ohhhh so many colors <3 I used to love popping those Fuchsia things I think
Living in the Northeast I like your type of snow!!
I haven’t had to buy a snow shovel yet!………lol
Before I drove SUVs and Jeeps… I kept a shovel in my trunk just in case…
I just found out that it snowed up to ten inches in our mountains. I’m going to try to get some snow pictures today and tomorrow.
I am looking forward to seeing them! I bet it will be pretty.
Preeetty! ah how i miss seeing colorful flowers. It’s still grey and cold here.
Simply stunning!
Hi Russel, beautiful photos. I particularly love the passion flower! Sorry if we’ve asked this already, but if you’re a facebook user we’d love for you to “like” the RAXA Collective page. See you there!
