These photos made me smile. What characters!
The third cat pic looks positively evil; or is he just bored…!?!
Great images…
I think all flat-faced cats look evil. Look at the sixth one down.
A very fun post!
Hooray for cat shows and gratuitous cat photos. Let’s have more!
Very nice pic of the kitties. Maine Coon has my vote as well.
Did you see Mr. Bowie?
Yes, he was there!
Marvelous collection of cat photos. Have to have a favorite. Ratber partial to Maine Coon cats. That one is so relaxed and lovely. Great job.
jk
Cats are most definitely kool. Great post
Flat face looks so cute
Glorious but Zoey still gets the rosette.
Hi Russel
What’s not to like? These are gorgeous. I am more a dog person, don’t tell Zoey, but there is something about the cool loftiness of the cat that makes them not just cute but superior.
Have fun
Corinne
They are so lovely but dear Russel, Zoey is the best
Thank you, Blessing and Happiness, love, nia
I loved these pics except the furless one. Cats are supposed to be furry and soft – for me that’s part of their charm. Thanks for posting.
Cats also are supposed to have tails. Those bobtail cats, well, they just aren’t cats………….lol
I also love the Maine Coon – fantastic cats. Thanks for sharing these great photos with us. Just adore them.
I never get tired of cat photos
Nice photos
I love cats, but I m still shocked about some breeds. Why do they still breed those flat nose cats or those Sphinx? They all have so many health problems and everyone who say “they are sooo cute” should shut up. All breeders should go back to breed normal faces etc.
If you’ve ever watched “Cats 101″ or “Dogs 101″ on television, you would know that all breeds have their various problems. I like the way you cite “normal faces.” I just hope you don’t have the same opinion about people.
Would you like to live with such a flat nose, having massive problems with breathing? That s just one example. For sure a lot of breeds have their various problems and now think about why,, Cause people formed they the way they want them to be – that s so far away from how the breeds looked like before and I just wish breeders and owners would think about their pets health.
By the way do you want to tell me I m a “racist” cause I said normal faces? I m sorry that my english might be not the best and so you got me wrong. I would never say anything bad about other people because of how they look – we are all humans, so we are all the same. I only say it s wrong to breed cats and dogs when you know before they will have massive health problems for the rest of their lives. But I guess as long it s allowed to declaw them or cropp their ears too, it won’t change at all and this makes me sad.
I haven’t read anything about “massive problems with breathing.” Certainly not a single flat-faced cat at the show was having “massive problems with breathing.” Do you have some sources?
I disagree with docking tails and ears, but dogs and cats, and other animals, as well as humans, have been bred throughout eternity, but very few, all things considered, have been bred for a certain look. Instead, those that were bred were bred for a specific function.
I think breeders and owners do think about their pet’s health, but what they are people who happen to love certain breeds. The fact that you don’t doesn’t mean that they can’t have them and take care of them. Personally I don’t like human children, but I’m not going to ask that everyone else give them up because they look weird, get sick, maybe are mentally or physically disabled. Where would it end? With Nazism? We’ve been there. Don’t want to go back.
Oh my, is my english this bad or do you just don’t want understand what I wrote?
Looking back through all the years I have seen many of them with massive breathe and eye problems – and it s a shame that they still breed them cause “they look sooo cute”. Many of my friends from animal care gave them a new home when the breeder or owners didn’t wanted them anymore cause of the expensive vet bills! I would do that too, cause every animal deserves a good home – I only say no to breed them. By the way I say “Adopt, don’t shop!” too, as long as millions of animals are killed every year in shelters…
I’ve been doing Google, Wikipedia, and American Cat Fanciers Association searches and cannot find a single breed that has “massive breathing problems.”
I’d still like you to provide sources so that I can educate myself.
Wonderful photos. Wow, you are so talented. That relaxed kitty cracked me up. They don’t care, show or not, lol…time for nap!
the cat without fur is just scary!!
Love the photos. A few look like they don’t want to be there
You’ve identified my cats for me, thank you. Maine Coon!
I love the photo you took of my cat, Gromit (second cat). She is almost 13 years-old and absolutely loves to show even if she does look a little clueless in the photo. Cat shows aren’t just for pedigreed cats. Mixed breed cats can compete in the household pet class. Gromit ended up as the highest scoring household pet in show this past weekend. Not bad for a feral kitten.
Soooo cute. Can we see some more pics please!
Cool! They remind me of a post I did last year in a similar vein re our local champion cat show. I hope to go again this spring, I love the variety of cat breeds I never normally see and they make great photos don’t they? Apart from the Sphinx – way cool cats don’t you think? Nearly won best in show at ours, we go for opposites with our cat pics…you’re showing the longer haired varieties, I was drawn to to the shorter haired oriental type breeds in the main. I love the contrast and your photos are awesome
I got to hold a Spinx at the show. Totally not what I was expecting. It’s skin was so soft. Really surprised me.
Wow, Russel what fantastic pictures. I am with you on the Maine Coon I have always wanted one of them. The relaxed cat gave me some giggle…too cute. The cat above the relaxed cat has an outstanding profile and what a super job you did capturing it. I really enjoyed these pictures. And you already know how much I love and enjoy your sweet Zoey’s stamp pictures. Hugs
Startling ears on number five.
That’s the American Curl. It might be a favorite of mine except that it is possible to break the ears. Since I like to pet Zoey the Cool Cat’s face and ears, I’m afraid that if I had an American Curl, I would break the ears by petting it.
Gosh, that sounds awful. And odd. I am consumed with curiosity now about their relative thickness and rigidity.
They are nice and thick and rigid. Therein lies the problem for me. I need them to be thin and flexible.
