Jason and Koa, reunited!
![]()
Update on Jason and his little beagle, Koa, from this blog: A trip to Pine Creek Wilderness in Cleveland National Forest.
Koa was found by a stranger about ten miles from where we lost him. He was tired and thirsty but happily hopped into the stranger’s truck. Koa was reunited with Jason a short time later. Yahooooooooo!
I have now recovered mentally because I was really distressed about losing that little beagle out in the boondocks thirty miles from where he lives.

Awesome! Thanks for the update, Russel.
Yay!
Hurray. Thank heavens for all animal lovers…especially the rescuers
That is such great news!
Feel so happy for them!
Ten miles! Holy cow! I’m so glad they were reunited before he had to fight coyotes or rattlesnakes.
Poor little dog- ten miles is a heck of a long way to wander. I’ll have to read your original post about him getting lost.
Good to know some people still do things… just because it is the right thing to do! Kudos~
I AM SO HAPPY! I was going to offer me and hubs to organize a search party. I am so relieved. Whew! Poor little guy must have been so scared.
Good news..
I missed something along the way. This is your dog or a friend’s dog that went missing. Gotta keep dogs on a leash when out of a fenced area or your yard. Dogs will be dogs and they sometimes take off especially the huniting dog kind as in Beagles( are known for running off). You and/or the friend are lucky to get the dog back. Guardian angles were at work.
Friend’s dog. This was a hiking group with seven dogs. Dogs aren’t required to be on a leash unless in city limits, and they all are well-trained and well-behaved dogs, but how to you train a dog what to do when met with stampeding horses. We’re actually lucky that none of the dogs were on leashes. If they had been, it would have been a catastrophe as those stampeding horses came through. I can see a dog getting caught on one side and a human on the other side and a leash getting caught by a horse. I think we would have had a human death with dogs on leashes in this instance.
I love a happy ending. There were more perils in the boondocks than the warning notice advised.
No doubt. I used to live out in the boondocks and at least once a week I’d hear the results of the more perils taking down a cat or dog. It’s one of the reasons why I moved back to the city.
Thanks for letting us know.
I’ve never been so relieved, that’s wonderful news!!!
What a wonderful happy ending. -hugs all round-
