Look, folks.

Santa is a pretty amazing individual with all he does each year.

And Rudolph is a pretty amazing pilot since he is still navigating by the light of his red nose instead of a GPS.

However, in case you didn’t realize it, Santa is a pretty big individual.

Chargers helmetWith a little practice he could play on Sundays.

Heck, even without practice he could probably play for the Chargers………..

Santa only has about twelve hours to make it to millions and millions of homes with billions and billions of presents.

If he is going to be successful each year, YOU need to do your part!

And I’m not talking being naughty.

Yeah, sure, that can help Santa summarily dismiss you.

I’m talking about the good folks, though.

If you were good this past year and still didn’t get anything from Santa, maybe you have a non-Santa-Claus-friendly chimney like one of these:

  1. Wow – I have never seen so many different chimneys! What happens if you don’t have a chimney?

  2. I like the two pots best. I’m guessing it’s yours.

    • I don’t have a fireplace. I’m over my fireplace phase. I like things that I don’t have to clean, so no boat anymore, no snow skis anymore, no off road vehicle anymore, no fireplace anymore. If I need the snap crackle pop of a fire, I just have a bowl of Rice Krispies with milk on them or listen to my fireplace CD.

  3. Dear Russel,
Thank you for the timely warning.
To all those who Santa never got to on the west coase I must apologize, it’s all my fault. You see, we don’t have a chiimney at my house but we do have something that looks like a chimney, and that is the vent pipe from the Radon Mitigation.
I forgot to hang the “this is not a chimney” sign on the vent pipe and now there are all these muffled screams (they are starting to die down now, they were very loud at first) from under the concrete slab. I tried calling contractors to come and dig up the foundation to free Santa but all the contractors are closed for the holidays.
Once again I apologize if you didn’t get your gifts.

  4. Poor Santa, how does he keep on smiling with such logistical nightmares :(

  5. Holy smoke! Those are some impressive chimneys you have in your part of the world.

  6. The post is funny, I got a good chuckle out of it… the mystery though is how do you even think of this??? :) To take all these pictures of chimneys and put it together within a post relating to Santa not being able to deliver his gifts… impressive :)

  7. hahahahahahaha! What did they expect!!? Seriously!!!!
What a great series of photos!

  8. Thank you for stopping by my blog. That’s a lot of chimney photos, love them. I think roofs can be beautiful, partly because of the chimneys.

  9. You are so clever that Santa should have dropped by regardless of how extremely naughty I suspect that you’ve been this year.
Eating vast quantities of rice crispies sounds like juvenile delinquency to me… snap crackle and pop could have had Zooey freaking out in case there was another earthquake!

    • That’s okay. I don’t either. Santa can work with that, though. Just leave some milk and cookies by an open door or window. When Santa sees the milk and cookies, he’ll know which door or window is his “chimney” for your house.

  10. very distinctive chimneys!

  11. I love all of these chimneys!!

  12. Russel, still amazed at the volume of photographs you have in your collection; incredible library of diverse subjects.

  13. I had a chuckle at this post. Fantastic photos too. We don’t have a chimney so my six year old asked ‘how will Santa visit our house then mom?’ Me: Magic my boy. Thanks for the share – the photos are lovely.

  14. Clever post Ray! Merry Christmas and happy new year! Robyn

  15. Gorgeous chimneys but sooooo not santa-friendly. :D

  16. Thank you for the chimney review. Nice of you to give Santa credit for all the hard work he does. Have yet to read an uninteresting post by Russel Ray…

  17. Well that’s a collection I haven’t seen before – interesting, something else to watch for.

  18. I was always told as a child that Santa magically squeezed through the keyhole here in south Florida. LOL! :)

  19. Love ya Zoey :)

Cheers, Ray – I like the Santa Claus / chimney quote – quite a collection of unfriendly chimneys! Hadn’t really observed, myself…

  20. Great post! I love all of the different types of chimneys! How’s Zoey doing? :)

  21. Haha very clever blog :) Love the different designs
