In a state of ecstacy at the San Diego Zoo

The world is scheduled to end at 12:21 p.m. Pacific Time today but I’m in negotiations with the Mayans to get the end of the world postponed to 3012. They want me to meet at their place for these final negotiations and to bring a sacrificial Republican with me. They are not thrilled with these Republicans. If I’m back at 1:00 p.m., you’ll know that my negotiations were successful and that the sacrificial Republican was acceptable.

Meanwhile, enjoy some pictures of wildlife that make the San Diego Zoo their home.

  1. Wow! These look like National Geographic photos!

  2. Gorgeous as always, and thank you for stopping around my blog this quarter, Ray ;-)

  3. Good luck with the Mayans! Photos were great too.

  4. it must be a republican because we are pure at heart ( smile )
    Merry Christmas

  5. The gazelle looks like he is laughing at your joke.

  6. I guess I have you to thank for postponing the end of the world. Hey such excellent photos :)

  7. Those are all beautiful shots, Ray; I really enjoyed looking at them.

  8. HI, THANKS A LOT, YOU WERE CAMPING ON MY ATTIC FROM WHICH I FELL IN LOVE WITH YOUR BLOG AT A GLANCE

  9. I want to thank u for taking the time to negotiate on behalf of the world. Obviously u were successful. I’m just wondering did they wanted an elected republican or one of their flock?

  10. Fine job you did saving the world! I’m sure you’d have had no trouble finding a suitable Republican for purpose….there are far too many of them knocking around! It was supposed to end at 11:11am here :) Mind you…it would have saved me a lot of aggravation later if it had!

Lovely photos…apart from that big, hairy tarantula that is! On that basis this post should have come with a hazard warning! You could try offering a few of the more obnoxious Republicans to it I suppose… ;) Thanks for the like on my blog btw :) Much appreciated.

  11. Such wonderful creatures! Love your zoo pics, Russel!

  12. Haha! Looks like your efforts came through! There are still a lot of sacrificial Republicans left… like that lunatic head of the NRA :-)

  13. The Mayans might’ve not known when the end of the world is but they sure do know that a Republican is of no value to any sane person :)

  14. LOL, it’s be hard to decide which Republican to take….maybe take more than one. HA

  15. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the San Diego zoo and the halls of history. Your blog is filled with wonderful artifacts and fascinating creatures! I hope to be returning soon.

  16. Hmm, let’s see….museum-quality photos of incredibly beautiful wildlife, witty narrative, stamps of approval from an adorable feline and sacrificial Republicans? What’s not to love? Thank you for your visit to my blog and the Follow. If it’s acceptable, I’d like to camp out in *your* blog for awhile.
