I need a title!

Picture of the Moment

I was cataloging miscellaneous pictures from this past April and found this one:

Boy at Fountain

I don’t take many pictures of people, and while I know I took that picture at the upscale Fashion Hills Mall, what I can’t believe is that there is only one person in it. Fashion Hills is a very busy mall and almost always full of people.

I fell in love with the picture — the small boy against the large water fountain, the interplay of light and shadows, the patterns, the earth tone coloring except for the little boy’s shirt, the fact that there are only two living organisms in the picture (I thought about photoshopping the plant out of there).

But what should I title the picture? I came up with three possibilities: Boy at Fountain. Patterns. Contemplation. What’s your favorite? Or did you come up with a different title?

  1. contemplation is good.

  2. Nice picture ————- :) More Human Pics – You should :)
    how about – Wonder- ? :)

  3. Lovely task! Make it a feature…
I think ”At The Fountain” is a nice title, or ”Waiting” – cheers!

  4. ‘the loneliness of the small mall boy’ long winded..

  5. Contemplation…Solitude…nice shot! Love all the special parts of the photo!

  6. “Contemplation” or “Waiting”

  7. How about something like “youth art appreciation”.. the word mosaic keeps coming to me. “Youth appreciation of the Mosaic of Life! “

  8. …or you could get weird and call it “Young human sacrifice approaches the great fountain of the water god.”

  9. With the boy’s hand placed on the fountain, it almost looks like he wants to do something – “anticipation”; “temptation”; “Longing”. Great photo!

  10. ‘Hope springs eternal’ comes to mind

  11. I immediately think of puzzles as I look at that photo. Love it, by the way.

  12. Tommy and the giant artichoke.

  13. They all seem good. My mind went to Elliot and ET.

  14. I like contemplation, or how about infinity or continuum as the circle represents infinity or continuous and the two living organisms in your image can be considered infinite, or in continued genetic lines.

  15. Contemplation is good… I would have gone with “patterns”

  16. Lovely photo… “Wish Big”

  17. Perhaps Living Mosaic, a nod to the living plant and child in the midst of inanimate tiles?

  18. How about – Elements Converge
As you say there are living organisims in the photo – it is their interaction with each other – or
    Interaction
    Great visual

  19. I like “Contemplation”

  20. Hi Russel, Princess Lily sends her regards to Zoey the Cool Cat ;)

  21. Oh, the title: “The Mall Zen” – how about that?

  22. What!? A ,mall without people? Impossible.

  23. Contemplation, I think. The photo makes me feel like the boy is really lonely for some reason. It makes me sad for him.

  24. Great picture! I was wondering why was he alone; so young. He looked so alone : (
    I would say contemplation.

  25. Contemplation feels good for me :)

  26. “Star-gate to better life”

  27. I would title it “Focus” :)

  28. Could I make this in Lego?…

  29. “Memorized” lol! I get that way when I see fountains too :P

  30. “Little Boy Dreaming” Best wishes, Robert

  31. ‘Thinking by the Fountain’, perhaps: or ‘Little boy at the Fountain’.

  32. I like patterns. Little boy at the fountain is good too.

  33. Hi Russel, Thank you so much for calling by and liking my recent poetry posts. How about ‘Fountain Of Youth In A Busy Mall’. You are a great artist wonderful photos. Take Care. The Foureyed Poet

  34. I was thinking of the same thing as malctg ” The Fountain of Youth”

  35. I think I may side with the person who suggested, “Longing.”
