A group of people at Walmart on Black Friday is called a mob. A group of old rich white Republican men in America is called one percenters. What’s a group of rhinoceroses called?

Amazing photos as always
. That kangaroo is on the WANTED list – I wondered where it had got to!
Amazing photos! Your answer is “Crash”. I wish there was a zoo close by so I could go and take photos. The closest to me is well over 50 miles. I don’t have a car….so that is not an option. Thank you for sharing you beautiful photos of the Zoo’s tenants. Have a Great Week my friend!
Always love your San Diego Zoo photos. I had to look it up: a group of rhinos = herd or crash. Glad you asked. I’ll store that away for future reference.
Love your sojourns to the Zoo… all the different animals they have there… wonderful…
Hey, did you see Skyfall, the new James Bond? Is that a Komodo Dragon the eats a bad guy at the casino? Adorable looking….not.
I have not seen Skyfall yet. I don’t go to movie theaters so I won’t see it until it hits the DVDs. I’ll be watching.
Just great!
Amazing pics as always I was wondering although you always share a wide range of animal pics do you have a favourite you like to photograph and which do you think is the hardest to get good shots of
Flamingos and meerkats are by far my favorite. The ones that are difficult to get good shots of are the animals that are still in small old-timey wire cages because there is not enough room in the cage for the wildlife to get to the back so that a long lens (300mm) won’t get the wires in the picture. The servals and lynxes, and many birds, are in that category.
On our last visit to the zoo here in the UK I managed a great flamingo shot but my meerkat photos were terrible as due to the bad weather they were insode and I was trying to shoot through glass
If it’s cloudy I don’t even bother stopping by the meerkat exhibits (there three of them at the Zoo) because the meerkats won’t be out. They just don’t like it when the sun is not out.
if we waited for sun here in the uk it would be a long wait but I shall have to have a look roun your blog later with my son for the meerkat pics as they are his favourite living animals (at the minute he is into dinaosaurs)
Beautiful pictures!!
Crash or herd. Learn something new every day, but crash is the best.
Russel,
I especially like the close-ups of the komodo dragon and the giraffe…although the colorful birds are beautiful too…
Love the sharp, clear lines in your photos.
Awesome! I love the clarity of your shots.
I always wanted to visit the San Diego Zoo I and never did when I lived in the bay area, I’m a birdie person so thanks for the tour!
Such a superb zoo (and lovely snaps by RR) In the next few years I’ll be taking my kids. Right now our rinky-dink zoo is enough for them, but before too long…
These are really wonderful !
Nice shots – I love Rhinos. It’s so sad to see what happens to them sometimes in the wild when they are disfigured (some killed) for their horns.
Beautiful photos!! Just stunning! My grand daughter would LOVE the giraffe photos.
Renee
All shots are great, but the birds in this series are extra special!
Such amazing shots! What a treat!
More please!
