My, what interesting ears you have
I went to SeaWorld this morning for my daily walk. Try as I might to walk right by the seals and sea lions, I can never do it.
Except for the second picture, those all are sea lions. The second picture is a seal. Know the easiest way to tell the difference? Sea lions have external ear flaps, seals have a smooth surface with just an ear hole.
All of the seals this morning were sleeping while the sea lions were posing and eating. Here’s a California sea lion proudly showing you his external ear flap:

great post and pictures
Thanks for not just walking past! I enjoyed these photos, so thanks for taking them.
Loved them!
Hi Russel,
as always, you have a really good eye for motives.
Take care, and have a good one,
Pit
Love these pictures, and I didn’t know about the ears of sea lions. Fun post!
They seemed to pose especially for you! Magic!!
…and mightily fine flaps at that x
too cute! Love the whiskers and ears!
What a cutie!
That is the cutest! Hey I have a technical question for you and I was going to ask you on FB but I couldn’t find you. Help please.
What’s the problem?
Well my silly camera you know the display on the back, it has lines and the color is kind of purplish. Also the display is warped, do you have any idea what could be causing this? BTW are you mad at me?
Sounds like your display is damaged. Depending on what camera you have, displays can be expensive to repair. With point & shoots, it’s probably cheaper to simply buy a new camera. Can be the same with older DSLRs. If it happened with my Canon Rebel XSi, it would probably be cheaper to buy a used one or a refurbished one than to have the display repaired or replaced.
What makes you think I’m mad at you?
This is an HP camera that is digital and cost about 400 new. The display is messed up therefore the pics come out weird. Well I thought you were one of my FB friends but I looked for you today and you weren’t there. I thought maybe I did something to upset you.
How old is it?
The display being messed up shouldn’t affect the pictures, though.
It’s a point & shoot, then?
No it’s got all the regular settings like a nikon or a cannon . It’s about 4 years old. And yes it does affect the pics they come out looking exactly what the display shows, warped, or with lines across the image and with a purple hue.
What’s the model number?
photosmart 945. So I take it you’re not mad at me?
The 945 is digital point & shoot camera. It’s not a digital SLR. Thus, you’re probably sunk as far as a four-year-old point & shoot camera being fixed. With those older point & shoot cameras, a camera repair shop wants $250 or so JUST TO DETERMINE WHAT’S WRONG! Then add in the cost of the repairs, parts & labor, and it’s probably time for a new camera.
No I’m not mad at you. I did have to unfriend you because of your language on Facebook. I didn’t read everything you posted because you post a lot to Facebook, but a couple of friends who know my distaste for foul language pointed it out to me.
Sorry my bad. I promise not to do that anymore, frankly I know better
my bad! I would never intentionally try to offend anyone. Well, I guess I’ll just scrap the camera out, what a bummer!
Donate your camera to the library or the zoo or someone else who collected old cameras for charity.
That’s a good idea! Never thought of it, thanx
Such cute, beautiful and endearing animals!! Love these pics and thanks for sharing!
They sure know how to live in style…
Love it. – - I didn’t know that about their ears!
Lucky you to be able to pop in these lovely creatures.
