Party with the cars!

Just a few blocks from where I live is The San Diego Collection, a showroom of 10,000 square feet featuring premier vintage, special interest, rare, and exotic vehicles, and related memorabilia.

This is not a car museum in the usual sense because admission is free! This is actually the private collection of one Charles R. “Chuck” Swimmer. Chuck was born in Canton, Ohio, graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and founded Charco Construction in January 1966. He and his wife, Carol, have lived in San Diego for 46 years. Chuck is active in many organizations, including serving on the Boards of Directors for the Better Business Bureau and the California Highway Patrol.

The San Diego Collection also provides space for automobile enthusiasts to sell their own classic cars or memorabilia. Display space to sell used classic parts and auto-related items is just $25 a month. There is no commission on sales, and there are 250 spaces available.

Virtually everything in The San Diego Collection is for sale, but if you’re part of the 99%, you don’t want to know the prices. Services are also offered, including wiring repair, detailing, and troubleshooting. Perhaps the most interesting thing is that they can host and cater your event in their showroom. You can party with the cars!
1934 Pierce Arrow 840 A
You can buy this car for just $250,000 (as is, no warranty)

Man I love old and new cars and this post is one very special, outstanding post…love it to bits… thank you…
Wow, really neat photos! Thanks for taking them, and for sharing them! God bless u!
I love a story and this one is life affirming. Chuck and Carol are a dynamic duo. And I love to stop by to visit Zoey the Cool Cat!!!
If you have to ask…you can’t afford it. Maybe that is the deal. 1% can own; 24% can take photos; 75% can enjoy looking at the beautiful photos. Proud member of the 75%.
My son would have loved to go and have a look. I am sending this link to him so he can enjoy your photos.
Some of those cars brought back memories. Great pictures. I started a WP site that will be a mirror of my site on Blogger stop by now and then and check it out. Hugs
Thanks for the photos. My H is also a photographer, he took a bunch of photos of the old radiator caps from the 20s and 30s. Back then cars were a work of art.
Thanks for camping on my page. Oct. 7 is my new best day for “likes.” Thanks!
fab
WOW, the photos are marvelous, and the cars – well my husband and I will just have to come see them. That’s all there is to it. BTW I was invited to be in the Ligo Circle of Appreciation, and it’s not an award, but it is a cool way to appreciate two blogs a day during October. Today I am appreciating you. http://tchistorygal.wordpress.com/2012/10/07/ligo-circle-of-appreciation/.
Thanks for appreciating me! When you get to San Diego, give me a call!
Will do!!!
Not cars,. but camp-sites. – I’ve cleaned up the last camp site, and look forward to your next camping trip – message from camp leader!
Oh my husband would have once loved this! I might try to show him your post when I go in later today.
russell! I love this post! I do love old cars………..hmmmmm…..think I’ll order that Pierce Arrow if I could put it in layaway. LOL
goodie! love those cars.. and i love the 11th photo.. hot hot red car! great post russel.
Amazing cars and a generous man.
My husband is going to love this! Thanks Russel.
I will have to show my husband, he will enjoy the photos. We used to have some really nice car shows here but they have fizzled out. This gentleman has quite the collection. Thanks for the photos. Blessings – Patty
Pretty fancy stuff. Just like in the old days only shinier.
Fabulous buggies and your photos are great–what a treat!
Let’s take some of those cars outside and let them play.
Great post and images. I’m liking it twice. One normal like for me, especially as the owners are kind enough not to charge admission, and one great big like for my partner who loves all things motorised… and shiny and old comes into it as well.
stunning
Hot post, I love vintage cars…especially aqua ones. I’ve book marked the link for our next visit to San Diego. I’ve mentioned before that we come often and love it there. I’ve never even heard about the place. Thanks for the great photos and the link.
I love vintage cars! Now that’s a place I’d like to check out someday
I’m not big on cars, but this could change my mind
Cool! I’ll come to party with the cars
I love car shows!! Great shots Russel
