But it doesn’t snow there!

Usually the only place I see A-frame houses are up in the mountains where it sometimes snows. The steep roof of the A-frame allows the snow to slide right off. So imagine my surprise when I found this beautiful A-frame in a residential neighborhood just a few miles inland from the coast and a block from San Diego Mesa College:

Bizarre looking house. Tiny, too. Looks like perhaps only a four-room house. And a roofer’s nightmare. Is that a train track in the background? If so, imagine the noise–and shaking of the house. Think I’ll pass on this one!
It’s not a train track, just a wide road to handle the 10,000 students going to and from San Diego Mesa College.
It’s lovely, but I wonder what it’s like inside one of these. Are all the inside walls on the slant?
Usually they are.

Awwwww! Such a beautiful little house!
I dont think I ever saw one which roof went to the ground before.. Interesting!
Looks like the roof slipped onto the house
lol
I think this type of construction is cheaper…in any case, the rain will sure run off fast
Rain?…………..lol
Wow, so unique looking…
Hi Russel,
We saw this nice-looking A-frame [http://pitsbilderbuch.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/england-reise-fruhjahr-2011-93/] last year on our narrowboat tour in England. This is the lock-keeper’s cottage in Evesham on the River Avon, and it even has a boat garage under it. Would be a nice place to live in, I think.
Have a great weekend,
Pit
That’s beautiful! Looks so relaxing.
The whole boat trip was ever so relaxing! I called it “the discovery of slowliness”, and what we did was “let our souls dangle”, as a friend of mine would have described it.
I can only recommend such a tour. We saw plenty of England – rural, industrial, city – in a most relaxed way.
