Sunrise from Mount Helix in La Mesa, California
Not far from me is one of the best places to get views of Mexico, San Diego, the Pacific Ocean……. It’s called Mount Helix.
You can drive to the top where you’ll find Mount Helix Park. The park is open from dawn to dusk.
Mount Helix Park is 1,365 feet above sea level, and on a clear day you can see to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Hawaii, and, of course, Tijuana.
Here is a recent sunrise from the top of Mount Helix:

Russel, I LOVE this sunrise! Beautiful!
Oh, Zoey, you have your alert ears going!
amazing
thank you russel !!!!
Hi Russel,
Wonderful picture.
Since I’m a nighowl, and conysequently what we call “Morgenmuffel” [= morning sourpuss], I don’t seem to be able to catch sunrises. Need to change my sleeping habits!
Take care, and have a good one,
Pit
Just for you, then, I’ll call this a sunset. No one will ever know………..lol
That sure helps!
Zoey looks none to pleased by that pinecone! I love cat’s expressions.
That’s because I caught her. The pine cone used to be on the table!………lol
Oh, how I would love to spend time in some of the places you photograph! beebeesworld
Love sunrises. And sunsets. This is beautiful! How odd, though for a park to be open from dusk to dawn, rather than dawn to dusk.
Ooops. Corrected. Thanks.
Beautiful sunrise pic, Russel. Is Zoey about to pounce on that pine cone?
She had already pounced on it. It was supposed to be in the basket on the table. Someone, not sure who, got on the table and knocked the pine cone on the floor. I’m pretty sure I know who it was.
Peace in a picture. Very beautiful and worth an early morning drive.
beautiful:) and so is the picture of the cool cat
We used to go there to watch the fireworks shot off in the valley on 4th of July!
Wow, great shot, RR
