These are a few of my favorite…………………quilts
Late this afternoon I headed downtown to the San Diego Convention Center for the San Diego Quilt Convention. What gorgeous quilts, and not a single one could I afford…………lol
Here are four of my favorites:

Three quilts with kitties, wow! Did they have any with dogs? Beagles???
They did have dogs. And lions, and flowers, and foxes, and wolves, and bugs, and butterflies, and trees, and buildings……. I’ll have some more in the coming days as I catalog and clean up the pictures.
Oh how I love quilts – these are amazing!
These are amazing
They are all fabulous…! What price range are they talkin’..?
The least expensive was $350, and that was for a small one, nightstand size. The big ones for the California king size beds were, well, I can’t even say the figures since they are so unknown to me………..lol………($4,000). We won’t even talk about the ones that were going to be auctioned!
WOWee… that is expensive..! In a number of ‘craft’ style boutiques, here in Australia, I’ve seen some fantastic ones too… Not priced in the $thousands though…
Ar well; guess I won’t be buying one…! Thanks for showing them; they are way cool…!
I’ll have a bigger post with many more sometime tomorrow or Sunday.
I’ll be there…! Enjoy the weekend..
Wow. What skill, and what a sense of fun! really looking forward to seeing some more.
I’ll have a more extensive post tomorrow or Sunday after I get everything cataloged.
Lovely quilts Russel! Thanks for sharing!
These are amazing! I love them all !
fabulous work.
These are just heavenly, Russel. Thanks so much for sharing your photos.
As you can see, I am once again able to get into your posts. I’m one very happy bunny.
Yahooooooooooooooooo!
These are beautiful! The price makes sense when you think of how much craftsmanship went into creating them.
It makes even more sense when you see the price of the machines that create the intricate stitching on them. The cheapest sewing machine we saw was $5,499, and it was an itty bitty small one. It would require adjusting the quilt about a billion times. Then there are thte big machines. They are so expensive that they didn’t have a price on them. I guess it’s like going to eat at one of those restaurants that doesn’t put prices on the menu: “If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it.”
Zoey would have had a delightful time viewing the “kitty” quilts.
Blessings ~ Maxi
Ha! She got jealous instead, thinking I was giving all my love to some new kitties………..lol
Love that Zoey’s stamp has her positioned on a quilt of her own.
Yahooooooooooo! Someone noticed!…………lol
Yup I did! Thanks for the help by the way!
I forget what help I might have provided, but nonetheless, you’re welcome!
I will take the “Seashore with Sun.” Check is in the mail LOL.
Get in line!
those are gorgeous!
I love quilts. I have friends who make quilts but I find knitting to be more fun
You totally need a cat quilt for Zoey to sleep on!
That was my main reason for going to the quilt show, but, alas, Zoey the Cool Cat is not worth $350 for a little quilt unless she can tell me that she will use it to the end of days, which some people say will be December 21, 2012. That’s only about 90 days away, so I would be spending $4 a day on her!…….lol
You wouldn’t be partial to cats, would you? A lot of quilters send their quilts out for the machine quilting, but just the cutting of the pieces and the piecing together is very time consuming. It’s hard to set prices for handmade things of any kind in a range that most of us can afford.
A little partial, maybe……….lol
Beautiful quilts – my favorite past time is to piece them and go to the shows.
Amazing detail of these quilts!
What wonderful works if art. Thanks for sharing!!
Gorgeous, and so much work! No wonder you can’t afford one.
I’m thinking maybe I’m in the wrong profession………….lol
I can’t afford to buy one, either. However, I could make one. It’s affording the time, now.
Simply stunning Ray. These are works of art!
Gorgeous quilts. I’m glad you’re going to be posting more! Beautiful photos, as always. The cat ones were favorites. Hello to Zoey, Cool Cat!
Kitties!!!
