Not just a bunch of birds stopping by
Invariably I’m always at the computer when the clock strikes midnight. Last night when it happened I instantaneously had 280 “views today.” At the same time, my views for Monday and Tuesday jumped about 280, too. Pretty obvious that WordPress changed the way views are counted and recorded. So if you see lots more people checking out your blog today, it was WordPress, not just a bunch of birds stopping by…..

Pigeons 4 me.
Where was mummy duck? Ducks are not very good parents anyway!
Mummy duck was with her other youngsters in the water. Maybe I can have Photoshop’s Photomerge function put the two pictures together!
Mmm that could be something!
Oh you bad dog. You bad, bad dog……….lol
Did your blog turn into a pumpkin at midnight?
It did!…..lol
Man. I’d take the 280 views and never look back. Or I’d be down with the flamingos.
It takes a lot of daily work to get the views, likes, and comments. Keep going and you’ll get there!
It is that time of year again. Even though we humans refuse to believe that the sun, the moon and the planets control us the birds know better! Today I watched over thirty Turkey Vultures use the rising air currents to get up to the altitude that they like. Once there they peel off and head south. Every spring they do the same thing but head north. They know the seasons better than we do. Apparently your birds do also.
wouldn’t it be lovely to have 280 views (sigh) I am jealous Russ. Seriously though, well done that is terrific.
Make blogging part of your daily activities and you’ll get there!
I love these photos! Oh that’s interesting about the views.
When you said it jumps to 280 too, i thought it is 280 00 in a day. I don’t have even reach quarter of 280 in my max view. Even a quarter of 280 is too far to reach. It does not matter, I will be the bird that fly to other posts and contributed to their lovely number, I am then equally happy =).
WordPress apparently did add 280 views to each day, starting with this past Monday. I’ll see tonight what the views are like shortly after midnight.
And thanks for being a bird that flies to other posts!…….lol
May I ask where in San Diego did you take that second photograph? All great photos, by the way!
The second picture is a daily occurrence early in the morning (6:00 a.m., for example) at Santee Towne Lakes.

That white egret is beautiful, I am really enjoying your photography. You are an inspiration!
Birds really line up for you. What’s your secret?
WordPress must really like you, too. They didn’t instantaneously add 280 views to my previous days. A glitch?
It probably also has a little to do with the number of views you get on a daily basis. I suspect that some of the blogs I visit that get a thousand views a day probably got even more now than my 280 views.

The secret to the birds is to hang out where they hand out, keep my eyes open and camera ready…….lol
Good shots Russ!
Thanks.
Pretty funny.
yah, WordPress is doing odd things lately. One night I looked at ‘following’ and it was some crazy number. I thought, what the heck….then a short time later it was back to normal. I love those little ducklings.
Not noticed anything different with my stats. But I’m usually in bed several hours before midnight
Oh I would love if WordPress made a mistake on the view sof my blog. LOL I have no idea what a double digit number is.
I like looking at pictures and you have some nice ones.
They’re looking for your FP entry.
If they look hard enough, they’ll find it………lol
Love the flamingos!
Can’t say it happened to me – although I wouldn’t mind an extra 200 or so hits each day
lol – I think the views are all you Ray coz I haven’t noticed a difference.
Grats and keep up the good posts.
A deep sense of reverence, unity and anticipation, very tender and wistful ~ thank you ~ Sincerely Deborah
Just here because I love the baby ducks
Thank you for the tip; I will check that no birds stopped by!
lol I instantly had 2. Views that is, not birds. I can’t get so many birds to sit still as you have. Maybe birds are busier in Central California than in mild San Diego.
We don’t have so much birds around us, just one seagull, 3 pigeons, 3 magpies and all the little ducks have been disappeared when Big Binky was still around… ok, they all have hitten the buttom a few times, so we have nothing to complain, but… Just want to say that you have a beautiful blog
Thanks!
BABY DUCKS!!!! Sorry that’s all I saw… lol!
