Here today, gone tomorrow
I went out for an extremely early morning walk (4:30 a.m.) today. While I was headed to where I was headed, I saw this:
I thought it was interesting that in the same picture there are two things which have the potential to cause World War III – water and power — and two things that probably will be gone within five years — a still-working coin telephone and two weekly papers.

What the heck were you doing out and about at that early hour?
Getting pictures for my blog!……….lol
It makes perfect sense; doesn’t everyone go around talking photos for their blogs at 4:30 in the morning?
Not everyone! That’s what makes it so great. No people ruining the picture………lol
Lucky to find a real pay phone! Those are a lost treasure.
Glad to hear there are others up at that time…
What an interesting post!
Back in 1986 I bought a house at a lake community, not everyone bothered with a phone they just walked to a community park and used the payphone. It’s now long gone because the last year it was in place they made less than $7.00. Interesting photo, especially because your prediction is most likely true.
Really neat light at that time of day!
It takes a good eye to stand back and take in what you did. Good post Russell!
You are very perceptive. We live in interesting times! In our global world, we will need to answer the questions: who will share the water, who will share clean air, who will share their food?
Not the United States Republicans!………lol
Canadians love to follow your politics! There is always something exciting going on…
I have a different definition of “exciting”…….lol
The world is different at 4:30 am. Hushed and waiting. Beautiful shot!
This will always pain me, for the whole human race and 2 friends I lost. Thank you for honoring these souls.~Deborah
Did you leave your comment on the wrong post?
I love getting out really early in the morning while most people are still sleeping.
Lack of traffic makes it easy to get places.
At least somebody is sleeping in the middle of the night…
Now if only I can get our two sleeping schedules synchronized…….lol
Great night shot!
