Southern California snow on September 7
The Russel Ray, Property Consultant home inspection yesterday afternoon was way out in the boondocks and about a mile high, so high that I came across this sign:
If you’re looking at everything else in the picture wondering where the snow is, well, this is Southern California. We have a different kind of snow out here………lol
Here’s a wider view with the sign down in the lower right corner.
So. Whaddaya think about our Southern California snow?

They’re doing a good job of keeping the roads clear. You can’t even see any
Our tax dollars at work!
LOL
That snow plow is doing a wonderful job… I cant see a spot that it missed…
Looks remarkably like the snow we get in Johannesburg. Must be really, really scary – be careful you don’t get stuck!
You got me, Russell. I was looking for crazy weather! LOL
I’ve been to southern Cali and seen snow in the distance on the mountains…
That was one of the attractions for me when I was looking at staying in San Diego. On January 15, 1994, I went water skiing and sailing in the morning, and then we drove into the mountains that afternoon and went snow skiing and snowboarding. It was then that I understood why 37,000,000 people live in California, with most of them here in the South.
It’s interesting to me that more people in California than live in the whole of Canada!
It’s cold up there…………lol
haha! Good point!
I think it’s great! Very entertaining, mon ami!
LOL funny that sign there! You are observant
I tried to leave a comment on your 9/8/12 photo spread about the pelicans on Shelter Island but something was wrong with the link and Google redirected me. You might want to check it out. Anyway, I’m trying to find a place to take some pelican photos -can you tell me where on Shelter Island you took that photo? Great photo!
Hey, Maureen. When you get to Shelter Island, there’s a large parking lot. Park in it and then walk over to the fishing pier. You can’t miss the parking lot or the pier. They are directly across from Humphrey’s by the Bay.
That’s some amazing invisible snow.
It also wasn’t as cold as I thought snow would be…….lol
I was at Joshua Tree, Dec 2008 when it was snowing! Oh, and if you go to Big Bear in the winter you will see snow!
It also snows several times a year out in Julian and on Mount Laguna. They are much closer to me than Joshua Tree and Big Bear.

Palomar Mountain was one of my favorite place to go to.
I’m betting that skiing’s not a lot of fun where you are….
Water skiing is a lot of fun!…………..lol
