I made a college once
I have always taken pride in my command of the English language, but I quit being a Grammarian a couple of decades ago, even before Twitter. However, I still find humor in some of the stuff I find, such as this notice on a community bulletin board (edited slightly for privacy and embarrassment):
That was a clean copy underneath a corrected copy:
It gets funnier. Someone came along and put up a pink sheet offering grammar and spelling lessons for James:
Look at the bottom of the pink sheet, though, where another person has added a comment:
I made a college once…………..

Sign at a food kiosk in a mall in Sydney, Australia – Craps. I know they meant Crepes.
Or did they?………..lol
HA! Hilarious! Reminds me of some of the grammar on Craigslist sometimes: “Large Amour for sale” (armoire???) But seriously, where I really hate to see it, and keep seeing it, is in our national newspaper. So dire.
My excuse is always I was typing too fast and hit the wrong keys. Doesn’t work for this guy.
I hate it if I leave a comment and don’t spot the typo before I submit it.
Maybe this guy has a custom font that looks like his handwriting………..lol
That’s awesome! Well not for the everyone who wrote those notes but…
Thanks for making me giggle!
So, so funny. If you haven’t seen it, check this out. This occurred in Riverside county. For all I know, it’s still there.
seapunk2.wordpress.com/2012/04/25/what-is/ I hope the link works.
Lol. Funny.
I love stuff like this. Thanks for sharing.
Aha! This is so funny!
Obviously, James doesn’t ‘sweat the small stuff’. I guess a college education doesn’t always solve the problem and it apparently made at least one person rather pompous.
I got a kick out of this one!
I missed the ‘collage’ until you pointed it out! Over how many days did you revisit this sign… or was it minutes?!
It’s very funny
Love it when your cat approves
It was just minutes. There were several of the clean drummer notices under a thumb tack so that people could take one.
lol!
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry!! Grammar and spelling mistakes are my biggest pet peeves!!!
I agree with Small House Big Garden. It is sad to see how many people have such poor grammar skills. Weren’t we taught how to spell even before college?
We were taught, but some chose not to learn………lol
Panefilly funie!
A good morning chuckle, followed by tears for the future world of print.
Too funny
OMG! That’s hilarious! I love grammar police! I love your blog by the way. You have a very distinctive and consistent flow and style. Very enjoyable, and you are fascinating!
Hey, Yvonne. Thank you for your kind words.
Well, it could have been my English note, but I have a big excuse, I’m only Dutch and have to practice more
Oh, I don’t know about that. I know lots of very smart literate folks who did not go to college. sometimes I think they are brighter than ones who have. And that’s taking a shot at me!
lol
love this! Since I’m in college, this made me smile.
Hahaha..very funny..loved it
