Cooperative water fowl
On my walk out at Mission Bay late this afternoon the water fowl were being very cooperative.

Lovely captures really nice…
That Egret looks like he’s wearing Yellow socks..ha. Do you know of Roger Tory Peterson? I did some research when my Sister Inlaw inherited a large framed artwork (her last name is Peterson and we wondered if it was done by a relation) He was an American Artist and naturalist. His field guides are still published today. He’s sometimes credited with starting the environmental movement. He would have enjoyed your post today too.
I have several of his guides in my nature library. Probably only National Geographic has more guides than Peterson.
I’m so looking forward to getting back to Florida to see these gorgeous birds on my back lawn.
I love the yellow socks the egret is wearing!
beautifu pictures!
Great pictures, Russel!
Thank you!
I just saw a blue heron and a white egret yesterday at a pond near my house while walking my dog and kicked myself for not having my camera so was particularly delighted to see your blog this morning!!! And as your photos are so amazing, I could really study them in detail – thank you, Russel
What are you doing going outside, and with a dog, without a camera? That doesn’t make any sense!…………..lol
hahaha, I know, I felt so naked!
I love these pics and these birds!
Mission Bay? Isn’t that on the Pacific Coast? (Or am I thinking of Mission Ranch…
).
We just visited the West Coast, and I just did a post on it, so it’s on my mind. Terrific photos, as usual, Russel Ray!
Right here in San Diego! I go for a walk over there at least once a week. Great place to relax. Fantastic photo’s
Lovely photos…we live on a pond and is is such a joy to have different birds visiting. 2 seasons ago a great blue heron had become entangled in some fishing line the kids had left.. not my kids.. We were so lucky to be able to capture the bird and get it to a rehabber who was able to untangle and release the bird…..Michelle
Stories like that are way too common here in San Diego. Fortunately, the San Diego Zoo and SeaWorld both rescue animals that become entangled in fishing line, as well as those plastic rings on soft drink six packs.
Delightful and well photographed pics mate
Pelican is an intriguing bird
Aussie Emu
OMG! very cool.
Lovely…just lovely.
Your photos give me a lift each time I visit, Russel. Thank you for bringing sunshine to my day.
Blessings – Maxi
