The Getty Center in Los Angeles, part 2
The Getty Center in Los Angeles, part 1
Before Jim and I ever got into the Getty Center to look at its holdings, we walked around the grounds, which were sparklingly beautiful and amazing.

Magnificent photos of a magnificent building.. love ‘em…
very nice visit – another so-cal thing to see next month!
Very nice photo work Russ! I didn’t think the place was that large!
It is the second-largest museum I’ve ever been to, the Smithsonian being the largest. However, that’s based on memory of the Smithsonian from 1984. It would not surprise me if The Getty was larger.
Wikipedia says that the Smithsonian is the largest museum complex in the world.
$6.45 basket kitteh.
Ideally speaking, how much time would you say is the optimal amount to spend there?
We spent four hours touring the collection and another hour touring the grounds. Since we don’t go to L.A. often, we were intent on seeing everything there was to see. The only things we didn’t do was go to any of the little 10-15 minutes movies.
Thanks so much, Russ; This is a top place to go to when we get out there.
Your photos bring out the glorious structure of the Getty Center. Good job!
Blessings – Maxi
That looks like a very beautiful place.
