Music on Mondays — The answer is blowin’ in the wind
Arguably one of the most influential and recognizable voice in the history of rock ‘n’ roll is Bob Dylan. On this date in 1962, Dylan recorded “Blowin’ In The Wind,” arguably one of the greatest protest songs of all time.
I never really cared for Bob Dylan’s version, notwithstanding the fact that he wrote the song. My favorite version is that by Peter Paul & Mary:
Perhaps the most recognizable voice to sing “Blowin’ In The Wind” is Joan Baez. I say that because “Blowin’ In The Wind” has been a staple of her concerts and musical appearances for 45 years. She has sung it not only in English, but also in French and Japanese that I know of, and one of her live versions (below) was featured in the movie “Forrest Gump” in 1994.
