I just need to look at your two front teeth
The new Reptile Walk opened at the San Diego Zoo on July 4. I was first in line to get into the Zoo that morning and I’m pretty sure I was the first one down the walk. It’s an excellent addition to the Zoo. My next few posts will be of the Reptile Walk and the local residents there, so if you don’t like things like, uh, snakes, crocodiles, and the like, head on out to a ballgame….
This is a Woma (Aspidites ramsayi):
A woma is, you guessed it, a snake. It is indigenous to Australia and endangered in many of its traditional habitats due to habitat alteration and destruction. Although the woman is a python, which normally prey on warm-blooded animals, it feeds mainly on reptiles, so it doesn’t have the heat-sensing pits characteristic of pythons.
The woma is a desired snake in the pet trade because it readily eats dead rodents and breeds in captivity.

Not my favourite creatures, Russel, but great pics.
I need one of these to get rid of the rat in the our wash house!
Don’t feed the rats and they will go elsewhere…………lol
I’m not feeding the stupid rats – they just like to eat the dirty clothes – argh!
Wildlife needs food, water, and shelter. Quit giving them shelter in the dirty clothes. Do the wash and don’t let the dirty clothes pile up and they’ll go elsewhere. Once they are gone, figure out how they got in. Look at the vent screens for all the holes into your house. Usually the soffit vents and gable vents for the attic and the vent screens for the garage are the two major entrance areas.
Russel – the washhouse is outside the house and there is no door – you definitely to come over here with Jim and sort things out for me! Juliex
Rats can get through holes the size of a quarter. Most people need to hire a pest control professional to resolve the problem, but if they are getting in, it’s because there is a way. Is the washhouse on a raised foundation?
Oh I am definitely going to have to take a photo of what will look like 3rd worldish conditions. Have you ever seen Mad Max?
Do I have to tell you how many times?
Okay my curiosity has finally gotten the best of me from reading and enjoying so many of your post to grace my email box and I probably could go back through your blog from whence I first discovered your fascinating pics and stories of places and things yet to accomplish here. The price of Zoey the Cool Cat’s postage keeps changing. Is it from:
A the post office keeps raising prices, so Zoey does it to stay trendy?
B the amount is how many times Zoey has approved a post?
C there is postage paid from all the love Zoey has for ya’ll?
Have a great day, I really find your place fun and informative to visit!

It reminds me of Curious George’s Trip to the Zoo. Didn’t he have to wait to go see the new Reptile exhibit? Sounds fun!
They should’ve had engraved your shoeprint. I went there this weekend.
Didn’t see everything. I took my sweet-A time. *wink*
I knew a guy who used to breed these…eeww – took the pet shop a while to figure out why he bought so many rats.
I’m laughing at what I’m going to assume is a mispelled word. Then again, maybe not. And I quote, ” Although the woman is a python, that normally feeds on warm-blooded animals…..” It made me laugh out loud! Great pictures of this rather intimidating woman,ah, I mean woma!
You don’t know how many times I had to correct woman because my voice recognition software didn’t know woma, and when I went to correct it, I kept typing woman……….lol
Ewww I don’t like snakes but I just had to see what a woma was. Nice pics though.
I agree with From a Montana Front Porch–that woman sentence was pretty funny. Are you blaming that on the Dragon? ‘Cause that means woman, python, and dragon have all met together in the same sentence.

I should say that I did it on purpose to see if people actually read this stuff in my blog…………lol
Haha! LOL to be sure. However, I think most understand your well-intentioned, whimsical humor.
AAAHHH that’s scary!! lol
