I’m sorry, but I have unfollowed you
Just a short, quick note to let you know that I have unfollowed you.
“Who?” you ask.
“You! The person who hasn’t published a post of any kind in all of 2012!”
Perhaps you died and your family and friends don’t know about your blog, or they don’t know your password, so no one can publish a post to let us know what happened to you.
I realize this is drastic. I mean, what does it take to follow someone even if they aren’t blogging?
In my case, I like to visit the people I follow. I call it camping out because when I do visit, I’ll often leave at least five likes. For those who visit me regularly, I’ll leave many more likes, as well as comments. Right now it takes me about 19 days to revisit some place where I’ve already been. Momentarily I’ll start visiting those who visited me on June 1.
Since I have blog links in my Excel spreadsheet for those people I follow, it takes time to click on the link and wait for WordPress to open your blog. Each time I visited your blog this year, it’s just been wasted time for me. So I unfollowed you today and will be spending that time visiting someone who is still blogging.
Anyway, if you happen to start blogging again, let me know and I’ll start following you again.
Meanwhile, best wishes for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity.

Lol!!!
Haha…such amusement.
Hi,
I often wonder what happens to people when they just seem to disappear, if nothing terrible has happened, you would think they would put a post in saying they will no longer be blogging, this to me seems the right thing to do, to let your readers know, but to just disappear, does make you wonder.
I always find myself hoping that nothing bad or sorrowful has happened to them.
Not sure whether I believe you out not
LOL
*or not *
Well, if they are conservative religious political extremist fanatics, I might have harbored a bad thought for just a second or two………..
Love, love, love the photos and your message is certainly reasonable! I am with you on this one!!!!! This comment in particular!
ur sense of humour is good. lol
After all I’ve been through in 57 years, humor is important to me.
i too feel that if u cant laugh at ur own self you can never laugh in life. nice to go thru ur blog regularly.
I mean.. you gotta do, what you gotta do….
Ah, yes. Choices, choices, choices…………..
No wonder I adore you!
Ah, you’re so sweet………
Just don’t unfollow me – ha!
Ha! back at you — Just don’t leave me stranded!
Never!
Interesting point you make Russel.
Before my surgery in the 25th May I had this sense of doom & gloom, re-did my will (which needed doing anyway as part of it was obsolete). I wrote a list of internet firends. local friends & my blog/email passwords etc with a note to contact these people and put an ‘out of office’ type message on my email. Of course I DID come through the surgery ok but I left the note in my B5 sized Address book on my desk (for the future).
Each time I have had surgery in recent years, I immediately send an email to my internet friends, because, after all, who really knows who or how many internet friends we correspond with regularly.
My immediate family don’t (as they don’t email or have blogs).
My local Aussie friends don’t email or blog either.
(I always worry when I don’t hear from internet friends for a week or so).
I had a hard time convincing my spouse to put together a list of all his passwords and such, but finally he did.

Go on! You know you want to! You got to be cruel to be kind
Don’t push your luck! lol
Hahaha it’s bound to happen anyway ?
good one Russel
this is a point every serious blogger should remember, i usually stop visiting after three or four months unless that person is more of a friend than a writer i adore.
Oh Ray I was so relieved when I continued reading your Post, Wow I thought after joining up with me twice you had changed your mind sooooooooo glad you didn’t or I would have had to wear sunnies to hide my red eyes
Seriously thank you Ray for all your encouragement on our Blog it was great, I too like to get to know those who join up with me but it takes time and sadly I have missed a few, but do appreciate them doing so, as I read Bloggers posts, like you I give them a Like if I relate to what they have shared, if not I sometimes share why but always with respect and they are also free to do the same and many have. I don’t have heaps of people commenting on my Blog but those who do are very sincere and warm hearted.
We also appreciate a reply to our comments and it really impressed me Ray that you didn’t just say thanks but shared honestly, we respect people who have integrity and don’t wear a mask, thank you for being real. When Ron comes home from his golf trip, he will be over to say Hi. .

Good system!!!
At first I thought NO don’t unfollow me I’m still here! Then I thought oh he is just being funny. But you are so right. I agree with you..
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
I don’t care what people say about you Russ! You’re ok!
You mean people are saying things about me? I’m gonna tell mommy. lol
OMG!!!!! I love this post and will reference it when I write mine on a somewhat similar subject… I’ve been so backlogged with all the hundreds of bloggers I follow that it’s been hard to catch up. Finally, on Friday, with 5000+ emails shouting at me, I had to do something. I’m finally emptying out what’s there and hope to start afresh… Anyway, here is what I’ve been leaving on some of the blogs I visit but haven’t visited in the back log:
I apologize for being AWOL for so long…. It now makes sense to me about how important it is to grow gradually. I was receiving 3000-5000 emails and it was a nightmare to respond to all in a timely fashion; even with a system in place. Finally, I had to shut off notifications and clear the deck and get back to a more manageable number… I learned a lot from the experience too — about human nature. Be blessed and thanks for your patience.
Thank you!
Eliz
I turned off emails from people that I follow. I did that just a few weeks after I started blogging on WordPress because one person that I follow posts about 30 times a day. Another one is right behind with about 25 posts per day. Just those two were overwhelming my email box. So I only get emails when someone comments/likes/follows my blog. Since I rotate my visits to people I follow, I don’t need all those emails anyway.
For example, before today when I visited you and left five likes, I was last at your blog on May 31. So there are about 20 days between visits right now. I’m working on getting it down to 14 days. I think that’s long enough for people to post a few times and make it interesting for me to camp out.
Yes, and I started doing same last week when the light bulb finally went on in my brain! About 50% of those emails were from the same bloggers who post endlessly thus making it difficult for me to reach others… Boy , did I learn a lesson. It is getting better as I clear up my box. TY!
So perfectly stated…sigh!

Love this post! Wow, a spreadsheet, what an honor! Love your organization, like a blog inspection.
Pink.
Just calle me Mr. Blog Inspector. — lol
Blogs come and blogs go it seems. I “follow” the blogs I want to read regularly through Google Reader, most frequently on the iPad where I use Flipbook. Eliminates the need for me to go to a blog and check to see what’s going on if anything – if you have posted, it will show up in Reader/Flipbook and it will stay there until I get to it. I love not having responsibility!
You’re welcome to camp out at Texas’ whenever you want instead
I know I shouldn’t but I feel kind of sorry for this blogger…..I love it when I find out that you’ve been camping out in my blog…..they don’t know what they’re missing!
The seahorse photo is amazing! Is it really rainbow colored like that or is it modified?
So far none of my photos are “modified” other than sharpening and contrast. When I get to modifying them, you’ll know, such as my recent “Interesting, but not me” post.
That seahorse is a common seadragon, or weedy seadragon. See Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phyllopteryx
Cool, and thanks for the link. Very awesome that it’s the only member of its genus. Unique indeed.
I love it when you camp out in my blog too. It’s something I wish I’d thought of, regular positive visit rather than just flying by! I also stopped emails and follow in my reader for the same reasons as Carol above.
My sister-in-law is visiting San Diego this week from Atlanta. I told her about your zoo!
Have a good day
Hope your sister-in-law has a great time here!
Thank you. I’ve had a couple of emails and she sounds happy!
you’re so mean!!! just because i’m a lazy git you drop me like a sack of cold spuds!!! please return, i promise to be more diligent but if you’ve already ‘unfollowed’ me, how would you know?? – sigh
You have to keep immaculate records, like in an Excel spreadsheet, and then make it a point to check every day, maybe every week. It can get tedious since WordPress doesn’t alphabetize things.
i gotta get beyond this stupid atari
