This cured my sadness and depression
During the Great Recession, I tried to stimulate my local economy by eating out twice a week and leaving very good tips.
I still eat out twice a week even though the Great Recession is over.
Tonight, however, I went out to eat only to find that my favorite Italian restaurant, Ottavio’s, has closed. Having spent an hour round trip on the drive, and still hungry, I decided to stop at my favorite fast food Mexican restaurant, La Salsa. They closed, too!
People, the Great Recession is over! Everything’s alright now! Quit closing my favorite restaurants!
Since I was sad and depressed, and still hungry, I went looking for a picture to make me happy again. I found this:
That is a Tufted Puffin or Crested Puffin (Fratercula cirrhata). It and many of its brothers, sisters, moms, dads, uncles, and aunts makes its home at SeaWorld San Diego.

Kind of looks like a bizarre bird superhero
We’ll name it BeaBea Ess (BBS for Bizarre Bird Superhero). lol
This photo really does save the day!
Russ, with this little story that you just told, you’ve described perfectly well the era of dishonesty of the Media and the hidden agenda that the government is brewing. USA is not ok! But that’s ok for the president, it fits perfectly to his plans!
You got me started! Grr! Thank you for your honesty!
All I wanted to do was eat…. lol
Great come-back!
Great shot.
(sorry to hear your favourite restaurants are closed. It’s a sign of the tough times in many parts of the world. Even here in Australia, where we weren’t hit so badly, I find favourite places have either closed, changed ownership or moved on to cheaper business rental areas).
Nothing ever stays the same in life.
Sorry to hear about the restaurants being closed, it’s definitely tough to find great eats, especially after a long trek! May you find just as nice or even better dine-in atmospheres. Ameen.
Pink.
