In gardening shall I live on
My wise old grandmother, who adopted me as a juvenile delinquent when I was 11, was a master gardener. Unfortunately, not everyone had an appreciation for her pots — old bathtubs and toilets, buckets, rusting wheelbarrows, old shoes…………
Although she died in 2003 at the age of 82, she is still influencing gardeners everywhere:

I love the shoes RR!
I do, too. In fact, I just remembered that I have some old shoes in the garage that might make some good flower pots. Stay tuned!
Ha!
Shoes with flower pots in the garden are quite appropriate.
It’s called recycle.
Always enjoy your blogs about your wise old grandmother.
Ceil
I usually recycle by donating to Goodwill. However, I do have some shoes that are in such bad shape that I would be embarrassed to donate them. I think they just might make some good planters. lol
Awww that’s a great tribute blog to her! I love when there’s something about someone that you’ll never forget, like those planters she created
My grandma died about 10 years ago, she and I were very close, and she was big into the Asian decor, every time I see anything like that, I can’t help but think of her
Thank you for the story!
I have a web site dedicated to her at http://www.mywiseoldgrandmother.com. I haven’t updated it recently because it’s too hard to do. My next goal is to make it a WordPress web site.
Awww I love it! Thank you
