When wildlife attacks the home inspector….

….there might be a reason.

At today’s home inspection, I found a bird nest under the roof eaves:

I do note wildlife homes at the home inspection because, depending on the wildlife, they can be a hazard. Bees and wasps, for example. As well, any wildlife can create health hazards since all wildlife has to poop.

The nest was fairly low so I decided to take a peak inside:

I have no idea what kind of bird it was because as I was taking pictures, one of the birds decided to attack me. I felt like I was in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “The Birds.”

I didn’t disturb the nest, only took pictures, so mommy’s eggs are okay.

  1. At one point I had 21 birds—2 cockatiels, 2 budgies and 17 zebra finches (they are worse than rabbits!!!) and when they had nests both parents were ready to attack if I took pictures!

  2. really nice shots Russel, great!!! :)

  3. Ah, at least the wildlife was only a small bird, and not a mountain lion!

A Diamondbacks Spring Training game was delayed nearly an hr here this weekend due to a swarm of bees on the field – I wouldn’t mess with those, either!

    • Hey, Sharon. When I was at the San Diego Zoo a couple of days ago, they had a small section closed off with a “Bee Swarm – Do Not Enter” sign. I commented that I wanted to go take pictures and the Zookeeper whom I did not know was standing behind me said, “Nope.”
