Saying goodbye to the USS Ronald Reagan

Went to downtown San Diego to say goodbye to the USS Ronald Reagan as she left to go to Washington for a year’s worth of upgrades. She’s been a mainstay at the North Island Naval Station since 2004, except for those six-month deployments over the years. – Eric Cooper

  1. Jane – Thanks for coming by. I think I read where it was mostly upgrades to all the software systems that run the ship. We don’t want any missles going astray due to old software! lol

  2. Hi Eric: Russel told me about your blog. Great photos. I’ll keep an eye on your future blogs.

  3. Eric, just stopped by to see your new blog and to look at the pics which are cool..sunset as background is warming…good luck here.

  4. Glad to see you make the move to wordpress, Eric. I’ll be bookmarking your blog so that I can see what you’re up to.

  5. Eric~Just stopped by to see your new blog, great photo’s. Stick with WP and you’ll get the hang of it. I still think using AR to help with directing traffic to your new site will help.

  6. These are great pictures for such a late hour. It makes the ship look very mysterious. I have to learn how to take pictures at sunset better. I’m often on the Hudson River late in the day running my dogs in the park. A lot of shipping traffic comes through there at that hour…It can be quite a sight.

  7. Hi Eric- had to pop by and see your new blog – looks great – but I never had any doubts on that score! Best, Gay

  8. Eric, Had to stop by…Great photo’s! I’ll be back!

  9. Hey Eric, You guessed it Russel sent my by to check out the new site. Love the pictures! I have been on that ship in Virginia Beach years ago.

  11. Hi Eric – I’ll try to get by often.
